Coldest Night of the Year walk

A local fundraising walk gearing up for its third year in Chatham-Kent.

Coldest Night of the Year is a national fundraiser that's put on locally by Neighbour Link.

"They can show up and pay what we call a registration fee and then go on the walk, if that's what they choose to do," said Network coordinator Al Baker Baker. "But people can go online right now to www.cnoy.org and register as a team or individual, and collect pledges between now and walk day."

The walk is taking place on Saturday, February 23rd. Registration opens at 4 pm, and the walk gets underway just after 5 pm at The Hub, the former Pines Chapel, on Grand Ave. W. in Chatham.

"It's a fundraiser for Neighbour Link," said Baker. "The work of Neighbour Link is to help the needy here in Chatham-Kent."

After the walk, there is a hot chili supper.
