CK police briefs - Thursday, February 21, 2019

A 61-year-old man from Chatham is facing charges for allegedly driving while impaired.

Emergency crews were called to a crash near Baldoon Road in Chatham around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday night.

Police said the Chatham man was suspected of driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and taken to a police station for a breath test. The 61-year-old is now charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a break-in at a residence in Chatham.

Police said the residence on West Street is currently under construction. The break-in happened sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. About $500 worth of tools have been reported stolen.
