The Windsor Spitfires' offensive effort fell short Saturday night at the WFCU Centre.
Windsor outshot the North Bay Battalion 43-31 but the Battalion fought back and beat the Spits 4-3 in overtime Saturday night.
The Spitfires added another point to their OHL Western Conference total with 55, and they remain eighth-seeded.
Windsor shot everything but the kitchen sink at the North Bay goal, outshooting the Battalion 16-5 in the opening period. They finally broke through when Tyler Angle scored with 23 seconds left in the frame.
North Bay came back in the second period, taking their first lead of the game with two straight goals. Justin Brazeau tied the game with his 49th goal of the season at 2:42, then Cameron Peters scored the go-ahead goal less than two minutes later. Windsor came back with back-to-back goals of their own to regain the lead before the second intermission. Angle scored his second goal at 11:31 on the power play, then Jordan Frasca helped the Spitfires regain the lead with his ninth goal of the year.
Brazeau scored number-50 at 19 seconds into the third period to tie the game at 3-3 and force overtime. Matthew Struthers needed only six seconds to score the winner for North Bay.
Colton Incze took the loss in net for Windsor. Christian Propp was the winning goaltender for the Battalion.
The Spitfires next host the Peterborough Petes on Thursday night.
