Maroons kneel to Kings in Game 1

The Chatham Maroons fell 2-1 to the Komoka Kings in their playoff series opener on Thursday.

Dane Johnstone scored 7:42 into the first period to give Chatham a 1-0 lead, but Komoka scored one of their own early in the second to tie the game.  The Kings added another unanswered goal 15:14 into the final frame to take the lead and earn the win in Game 1.

Maroons goaltender Tristan Lewis made 34 saves out of 36 shots on net.

The two teams are set to face off again on Saturday. The puck drops at 7:15 p.m. in Komoka.
