CK police briefs - Wednesday, March 6, 2019

Chatham-Kent police officers are reminding motorists to be aware of changes to the speed limit on local roadways.

Members of the Traffic Unit were stationed in Port Alma on Tuesday.

Police said four drivers were stopped for speeding and given provincial offence notices.

A man has been arrested after allegedly trespassing on someone's property at night.

Police said the homeowner spotted a man in their backyard on Tuesday. Officers responded to the area and found a bag that contained break-in tools and "other evidence". Officers were eventually able to find a suspect who has since been released from police custody with a future court date.

A 26-year-old man wanted on five outstanding warrants has been arrested.

Chatham-Kent police said the 26-year-old was wanted for failing to comply with his probation and failing to appear in court. He was arrested Tuesday and held in custody for a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
