Man facing assault charge

On Saturday night police responded to a domestic-related call involving a husband and wife at their home in Chatham.

After investigating, police learned that the man allegedly assaulted his wife a few days before but police we not called.

The 59-year-old man was then arrested and charged with assault. He is currently being held for a bail hearing at police headquarters.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

Saturday around 5 p.m. police arrested a 51-year-old Chatham man at the police station.

He was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Kicking bandit caught

Early Sunday morning police were able to locate a kick-happy suspect they had been searching for.

It all started on Wednesday when the man was seen in a Wallaceburg parking lot repeatedly kicking a vehicle that wasn't his. He kicked it so many times that the vehicle sustained damage.

By the time police were notified of the incident, they were unable to locate the man and issued a warrant for his arrest.

The Wallaceburg man, 29, was found shortly after midnight on Sunday and was charged with mischief under $5,000. He was released with a future court date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
