Box lunch raises over $9,000

Over 3,100 people had full bellies earlier this month thanks to Community Living Chatham-Kent.

That's how many box lunches were delivered by 70 volunteers with the organization on March 7th through its annual fundraiser.

Over $9,000 was raised, with the money going towards Community Living's many programs. They were also able to collect enough money to provide 1,555 lunches towards local school nutrition programs.

Tammy Chouinard, Manager of Community Relations with Community Living Chatham-Kent, said the fundraiser had two goals this year - raise funds for the agency and provide lunch to as many kids as possible. Chouinard said it would not have been possible without sponsors like Subway, North Kent Wind, South Kent Wind, Teksavvy, and First Choice Building Restoration.
