James Bond one of three suspects arrested in Chatham drug bust

A Chatham man who shares a name with a legendary movie character has been arrested in connection with a drug bust that turned up thousands of dollars in illegal drugs.

Chatham-Kent police said they made three arrests after officers allegedly found cocaine, methamphetamine, and oxycodone with an estimated combined street value of $4,400 while they were executing a search warrant at a residence on Patteson Avenue in Chatham early Wednesday morning.

Police also said they found some drug-related equipment and recovered more than $5,000 in cash during the search.

As a result of the investigation, James Bond, 54, Lise Newcome, 54, and Nancy Belanger, 52, all from Chatham, were arrested and charged with several drug-related offences including drug trafficking. Nancy Belanger was also charged with failing to comply with her release conditions.

All three of the accused have since been released from custody with conditions and a future court date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
