UPDATE: Eastbound Highway 401 re-opens at Ridgetown

One person is being treated for critical injuries after a crash on Highway 401 near Ridgetown early Thursday morning.

The eastbound lanes are open between Victoria Road and Orford Road, but they were closed for a couple of hours between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. after that collision.

Chatham-Kent paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the patient to a local hospital before the patient was taken by air ambulance to a local trauma centre.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
