Over 200K Mazda compact cars recalled

Mazda is recalling around 200,000  Mazda 3 compact cars in North America over safety concerns.

The Japanese automaker posted the notice after it was discovered that an electrical problem may cause the windshield wipers to stop working.

The recall impacts around 51,000 vehicles in Canada and covers cars from 2016 through 2018 model years.

According to a post on the Government of Canada's recall website, windshield wipers that do not work can decrease the driver's visibility in certain weather conditions.

Mazda will be notifying owners by mail instructing them to take their vehicle to a dealer to fix the issue.
