New medicinal cannabis operation looking for workers

PharmHouse in Leamington is holding a job fair next week at the Lebanese Club.

The job fair is on Thursday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The medicinal producer of cannabis, which has a three-year partnership with Canopy Rivers, is still waiting for Health Canada approval but hopes to have its license to operate by June 1.

Once it has approval, it will ramp up production at its 1.3-million sq. ft facility on Highway 77, and start selling medicinal cannabis in three months.

The facility in Leamington was built in 2017 and is currently being upgraded in preparation for its licensing.

Tony Abbas with the new company said they are looking for 70 workers in a variety of positions including general labour, inventory, supervisor, finance, and maintenance.
