High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Two people have died following a head-on collision just east of Wardsville.
Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police, London EMS, and the Southwest Middlesex Fire Department responded to the crash on Saturday at around 6:15 p.m. on Longwoods Road.
According to police, two vehicles were involved in the collision. As a result, a 48-year-old male and 26-year-old female who were in the same vehicle have died. Four other individuals were transported to the hospital with both minor and serious injuries.
Longwoods Road was closed from Hagerty Road to Dogwood Road for around 10 hours while police investigated.
The identities of those killed are being withheld until the family is notified.
