Police looking for second man in bear spray attack

A 32-year-old man is charged and another is on the lam after both allegedly attacked people with bear spray over the weekend.

Police said the altercation occurred on Saturday night when the accused men approached a truck while in a parking lot on Murray Street in Wallaceburg.

They allegedly attacked both occupants with bear spray, which led to the victims looking for help at a nearby business, police said.

Shortly after that, emergency crews arrived at the scene and escorted the victims to Sydenham District Hospital for medical treatment.

All persons involved in the altercation are known to each other, police said.

A 32-year-old Wallaceburg man was found on Sunday and was charged with assault with a weapon and administering a noxious substance. He was released pending a future court date of June 18, 2019.

Police continue to look for a second man.
