Youth and adult charged after alleged assault

Two people are facing charges after allegedly punching someone in the face at Tecumseh Park in Chatham.

According to police, the incident took place around 7 p.m. on Saturday. A female was walking through the park during an event when she was was confronted by two other females and then punched in the face.

The accused parties fled the area but were located by police later in the night. The victim was not injured during the altercation.

As a result, a 20-year-old woman and 16-year-old youth were charged with assault. Both have been released and given a future court date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
