UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm warning ended

Environment Canada has ended all severe thunderstorm warnings for Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex.

The weather agency said Monday evening that meteorologists were tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, pea to dime size hail and heavy rain.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that people take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
