Repairs set for CN Rail crossing in Chatham

Intermittent lane closures are expected in Chatham as railway repairs ramp-up on Keil Drive South.

Municipal officials said work on the CN railway tracks on Keil Drive South between Park Avenue West and Richmond Street will start Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. and last until 6 p.m. During that time, there may cause traffic delays but there will not be a full road closure.

A detour route will not be posted, however, drivers who want to avoid the area can instead take Richmond Street – Bloomfield Road – Park Avenue West.

Similar work took place in June, where traffic delays only last for a day.

Ryan Brown, director of Public Works, had previously said the municipality is working with CN and CP officials to address issues at the railway crossings located at Keil Drive South and Richmond Street, as well as Keil Drive South and Park Avenue West.
