Damages estimated at $200K after fire in downtown Thamesville (VIDEO)

Fire crews in Thamesville are finally getting some much-needed rest after battling a blaze on London Road overnight.

Crews from Station 8 and 9 were called to the scene at a commercial building on London Road at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, assisted by aerials 6-14 and 11-14 and Unit 1-11.

Firefighters at the scene continued working to extinguish the fire until around 4 a.m. Friday.

The damages are estimated at $200,000, the cause is going down as undetermined for now, and no injuries were reported.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
