Knifepoint robbery at hair salon in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police are working to track down a suspect after a hair salon in Chatham was robbed at knifepoint.

Police said the unknown suspect, wearing a black t-shirt with white writing on the front, entered BoRics Hair Salon on Grand Avenue in Chatham at around 7 p.m. Wednesday and demanded cash while holding a knife.

He was able to take off on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a 35 to 40-year-old black man, approximately 5'5" tall with short hair.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
