Threats and assault lead to charges

A 58-year-old man was arrested for allegedly uttering threats and chasing someone with a metal pipe.

According to police,  it happened around 11 a.m. Saturday morning, when they responded to a North Street residence in Dresden for reports of a dispute.

The accused had attended the victim's house and allegedly drove his vehicle into the victim's vehicle. Police say the man also threatened the victim and chased him with a metal pipe.

The man was arrested and released on a promise to appear for a future court date.

Drunk driver busted by police

Police were able to nab an alleged drunk driver late Saturday night in Chatham.

It all started with a routine traffic stop on Victoria Avenue shortly before midnight. Officers suspected the man was under the influence. He was arrested and taken to the police station for a breathalyzer.

The 38-year-old man was charged with being over the legal limit and was released on a future court date.

ATV stolen in Chatham Township 

Police are looking for tips after an ATV was stolen from a barn in Chatham Township.

It happened on Blind Fourth Line sometime overnight Saturday. The suspect or suspects got away with a red, 2004 Honda ATV valued around $2,000.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Chatham-Kent police or Crime Stoppers.

Man arrested on warrant

Shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday, police arrested a 30-year-old man in Dresden on a bench warrant.

He was later released from custody and given a future court date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
