Keil Drive South will be closed for railway crossing rehabilitation

Another busy road in Chatham is set to close later this month -- this time for planned railway crossing repairs.

Keil Drive South is set to be closed to through traffic between Richmond Street and Riverview Drive from Tuesday, August 20 at 7 a.m. to Friday, August 23 for rehabilitation work on the railway tracks and crossing surface across the roadway.

All of the lanes will be closed to traffic at the CP Railway crossing -- including emergency vehicles, but local traffic will be permitted up to work zone.

The recommended detour for local traffic is Riverview Drive – Bloomfield Road – Richmond Street.

Truck traffic is advised to take Richmond Street to Lacroix Street for access to Highway 2.

The work at the CP rail tracks follows repairs to the CN Rail crossing on Keil Drive South that took place in July.
