Careless driving charge laid after rear-end crash

A 29-year-old Chatham man is getting the blame for a crash on Communication Road between Chatham and Blenheim early Tuesday morning.

Chatham-Kent police said emergency crews were called to the scene at around 7:45 a.m., adding that a 24-year-old Chatham woman and her two-year-old daughter were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Officers said their investigation showed that two vehicles were heading south on Communication Road when one of the vehicles rear-ended the other, causing it to hit a hydro pole.

A 29-year-old Chatham man was charged with careless driving. The damages were estimated at $25,000.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
