Michael Authier is no longer charged with dangerous driving, instead, the court heard on Friday that he will avoid additional jail time after pleading guilty to careless driving.
The charges stem from an incident in February that resulted in Authier being charged with attempted murder and drug possession. The drug possession charges were dropped earlier this week. There is a publication ban on the case, which means no evidence or facts about the incident can be reported.
Authier is currently in custody for breaching the conditions of a previous probation order. With the guilty plea, he will have his driver's license suspended for 90 days and will have to pay a $500 fine.
Proceedings for the most serious charge in the case, attempted murder, will return to the courtroom on October 28, 2019 for a confirmation hearing before a set of scheduled preliminary hearing.

- December 3, 2019 (courtroom 101)
- January 23-24, 2020 (courtroom 101)
