Multiple fatalities following mass shooting in West Texas

Multiple injuries are being reported after a mass shooting between Midland and Odessa, Texas.

Around 5:00 p.m. Saturday, there were reports of possibly two active shooters in two separate vehicles in Midland. The Midland Police Department and the Odessa Police Department responded to the shootings and urged people to stay away from the areas.

Via Facebook, Midland Police initially reported that there was one suspect possibly at the Cinergy in Midland, while another was believed to be driving on Loop 250. There were also reports of a shooting in a home depot in Odessa. Police were initially searching for a small gold/white Toyota truck and a USPS postal van.

According to CBC, one or two suspects were firing at random people on Interstate 20 from a hijacked U.S. Postal vehicle in Odessa. Around 6:30 p.m. the Midland Police Department confirmed via Facebook that one suspect was shot and killed at the Cinergy movie theatre in Odessa. The death toll as of Friday has raised to seven people with 20 people injured.

The gunman was identified on Sunday as a 30-year-old white male.
