Farm accident sends Chatham woman to hospital

A 54-year-old Chatham woman is recovering from non-life threatening injuries after her hair got caught in a belt on a tomato harvester.

Chatham-Kent police said emergency crews were called to the scene in a farmer's field in Raleigh Township sometime Tuesday morning.

The woman was reportedly working on the harvester at the time and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said the Ministry of Labour has been notified of the incident.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
