Police look for more victims of convicted pedophile

Police in Chatham-Kent are asking any possible victims of a convicted pedophile to come forward.

In 2011, the Chatham-Kent Police Major Crime Unit completed an investigation into Ron Inghelbrecht involving sex-related offences. The investigation revealed that the 56-year-old was in possession of 68,500 images and 1,246 videos of child pornography stored on three computers and media devices.

After hearing of his arrest, a man came forward and pressed a sexual assault charge against Inghelbrecht, alleging that sexual abuse occurred between May 1987 and June 1991.

In 2012, Inghelbrecht was convicted of sexual assault and two counts of being in possession of child pornography.

On Wednesday afternoon, police announced that they recently received new information regarding Inghelbrecht and investigators want to make sure there are no other victims.

Anyone with information about Inghelbrecht is urged to contact Constable Cole Abbott at colea@chatham-kent.ca or 519-380-6024.

Inghelbrecht is set to reach the end of his sentence and be released on November 5, 2019.
