Chatham-Kent police are urging drivers to slow down and pay attention in and around construction zones -- especially after a flag person was hit during a crash just south of Chatham.

Police said the person was hit at around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday as a result of a two-vehicle collision in the construction zone on Charing Cross Road between Ninth Line and Eighth Line.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The total damage was estimated at $2,000 and the crash is still under investigation.

The Ministry of Labour has also been notified of the incident.
