2017 Explorers recalled over sharp power seats

The Ford Motor Company has issued another recall, this time for 2017 Explorers.

The vehicle may have an improperly coined seat-frame edge.

The recall only affects vehicles with power seats, and the company said the seats might have sharp edges that customers could "come in contact with -- when reaching between the power front seat and centre console."

There have been 31 injuries reported because of the defect.

All the vehicles were built at the Chicago Assembly Plant between February 13, 2016, and October 25, 2017.

The recall is for 23,380 vehicles in Canada, 311,907 in the U.S., and 3,045 in Mexico. The Ford reference number is 19S29.

Owners can take their vehicle to the dealer who will put flocked tape on the sharp edge and tab on the inboard side of the power seat frame.
