Konecny signs $33M, six year contract with the Flyers

Chatham-Kent’s Travis Konecny has signed a major deal with the Philadelphia Flyers with a total worth of $33 million.

The Flyers made the signing announcement through a post on NHL.com. The team and Konecny have reportedly agreed to a six-year contract with average annual earnings of $5.5 million.

According to the release, Konecny’s contract will run through the 2024-2025 season.

The centre from Clachan, Ontario, was selected 24th overall by the Flyers in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Konecny had previously played with the Ottawa 67’s and the Sarnia Sting.
