UPDATE: Early morning fire on Forhan Street

The damages are estimated at $200,000 after a fire broke out at a home in Wallaceburg early Wednesday morning.

Multiple callers reported seeing flames and smoke visible at the back of a home on Forhan Street near Elizabeth Street before fire crews arrived at the scene at around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Firefighters Station 2 (Chatham) and Station 3 (Wallaceburg) were both called in along with volunteer firefighters in the Wallaceburg area and were able to quickly get the fire under control.

Paramedics were also called to the scene, but no injuries were reported.

The cause is going down as accidental.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
