Police respond to three break and enters

Over the course of 24-hours, police in Chatham-Kent responded to three separate break and enters across the municipality.

First, officers responded to one on Talbot Trail in Romney Township Friday morning.  A shed was entered on the property and various tools were taken.

Also on Friday morning,  police responded to a break and enter at a residence on Queen Street in Wallaceburg. The garage on the property was entered and various tools were stolen.

Lastly, early on Saturday morning police responded to another break-in, this time on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg. A detached garage was broken into and a red 2000 Polaris Scrambler ATV was taken.

There are no suspects in either of the cases. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Man breaches conditions 

A man was busted by police for breaching not one, but two of his bail conditions.

It started Friday evening when an officer went to a residence on Westcourt Boulevard in Wallaceburg. The officer found a man who was violating his bail conditions by being at the residence.

When the man was arrested, the officer found him in possession of ammunition, which was also a breach of his bail.

The 47-year-old was transported to police headquarters and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested on warrant 

Friday afternoon police were able to locate a wanted man in Wallaceburg.

An officer was on general patrol when he located the man on Murray Street. The man was known to have a warrant for his arrest for breaching his recognizance.

The 36-year-old was arrested and taken to the police station. He was later released with a future court date.

Man busted for breaching conditions 

A man who was supposed to be on house arrest is in trouble with the law after being caught outside his house.

It all happened on Friday evening. Police went to a residence on Wellington Street in Wallaceburg. Inside, they found a man that was breaching his conditions by not being inside his house while on house arrest.

The 48-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and transported to police headquarters to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man caught on warrant 

Friday morning an officer on general patrol in Chatham located a male on Grand Avenue who was known to have a warrant for mischief.

The 19-year-old male was arrested and transported to police headquarters to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
