Drug bust in Wheatley turns up cocaine, opioids

Four alleged drug dealers have been arrested, charged, and released after police searched a residence and a mobile home on Walker Avenue in Wheatley.

Chatham-Kent police said a 51-year-old Tilbury resident, a 56-year-old Wheatley resident, a 59-year-old Wheatley resident, and a 60-year-old Wheatley resident were all charged with three counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking after officers executed search warrants at the two locations on Friday and found cocaine, hydromorphone capsules, and oxycodone pills.

Police said the estimated street value of the drugs they seized is $4,000. Officers also seized an undisclosed quantity of Canadian cash, drug packaging materials, and digital scales.

The accused were all later released pending a future court date.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
