Damage estimated at $100K after crash at Blenheim Giant Tiger

Chatham-Kent police have charged a driver after a vehicle went through the front doors at Giant Tiger in Blenheim over the weekend.

The GT Xpress on Chatham Street South is closed Monday as a result of the crash, which took place at around 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon, but the store's manager is hoping the building will be able to re-open later this week.

Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle before it went into the building. One person in the vehicle was taken to the hospital for medical attention, but no one in the store was hurt.

The damage was estimated at $100,000 and the driver was charged with careless driving.
