Snowy roads prompt CK school bus cancellations

Poor road conditions have prompted school bus officials to cancel the service across Chatham-Kent for the full day Tuesday.

All schools will still be open, but extra-curricular activities are cancelled.

There are no snow squall watches or warnings currently in place for the municipality, but Environment Canada says there is still a risk of snow squalls Tuesday morning and early in the afternoon.

Further north and east, there is a snow squall warning in effect for Sarnia-Lambton, where snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 centimetres are expected by the end of the day. London is also under a snow squall watch with 10 to 15 centimetres of snow possible there over the next 12 hours.

Blowing snow is expected to reduce visibility to near zero and drivers should be prepared for conditions to change quickly and deteriorate.
