UPDATE: Brodie released from hospital after collapsing at practice

Chatham-Kent's T.J. Brodie was taken to the hospital Thursday after collapsing on the ice during practice.

The Calgary Flames player appeared to suffer a seizure and was taken from the ice on a stretcher.

T.J. Brodie plays for the Calgary Flames and General Manager Brad Treliving said Brodie was wheeled off and practice was postponed.

"TJ Brodie experienced an episode on-ice at practice today in Calgary," the Flames said in a statement. "Following tests conducted at a local hospital, TJ has been discharged and is doing well in recovery at home with his family."

The team released a second update on Thursday night, stating that Brodie had been released from the hospital, and was at home with his family.

Flames General Manager Brad Treliving is expected to provide an update on Friday.

Brodie was a fourth-round selection of the Flames, 114th overall, at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He turned professional in 2010.
