Maroons crushed by Vipers 9-2

The Chatham Maroons were crushed by the LaSalle Vipers at the Chatham Memorial Arena 9-2 on Sunday.

LaSalle kicked off the game with three consecutive goals scored by Colton Krzeminski, Isaac LeGood and Ray Hamlin in the first period.

James Jodin scored 4:24 into the second period for the Vipers. Chatham's Dallas Maurovic responded with a power-play goal. Stephane Crevier, Ethan Hamelin scored followed closely by a power-play goal by Hayden Heinirch. The Maroons Griffin Robinson scored 16:22 into the frame. Hamelin responded with a goal at 18:53.

Neither team scored in the third period.

Maroons goalie Kevin Linker saved 26 out of 41 shots on net and Bryce Walcarius saved 10 out of 14.

The Maroons will head to the West Middlesex Memorial Arena to face off against the Strathroy Rockets on Saturday. Pucks drop at 7:30 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
