Crash claims life of four-year-old

A four-year-old Appin girl has died from injuries she suffered in a three-vehicle crash southwest of London on Monday night.

Two vehicles and a tractor trailer collided at the intersection of Glendon Drive and Melbourne Road in Southwest Middlesex Township around 8:20 p.m.

Mariia Bundur, 4, of Appin was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. She has since died from her injuries, Middlesex OPP said on Tuesday morning.

Two other people who were in the same vehicle as Bundur suffered serious injuries.

Glendon Drive and Melbourne Road were closed overnight while police investigated the cause of the crash. The intersection was reopened just before 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
