Strong winds pose challenge for firefighters in Thamesville

No injuries are being reported after a house fire broke out on Wallace Street in Thamesville early Thursday morning.

Chatham-Kent firefighters from Station 8 and Station 9 both responded to the scene at around 1 a.m.

Officials said they had to battle extreme winds at the time, too.

Investigators said the cause is unknown at this time and there is no word yet on a damage estimate.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
