Theft Suspect Arrested

Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man suspected of stealing at a Canadian Tire store in Blenheim earlier this month.

On Thursday, 36-year-old man from Morpeth was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

The theft happened November 11, 2019, and police released photos of a suspect and a truck he was driving this week.

Man Charged in Merlin

A Merlin man is facing several charges including uttering threats and theft of a motor vehicle.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious man in Merlin Thursday morning and found a man causing a disturbance while walking around. Police said he threatened a woman while attempting to steal her van and drove away in a truck that was left unattended and running.

Officers arrested a suspect a short time later.

The 56-year-old was also charged with attempted theft of a motor vehicle, causing a disturbance, being in possession of property over $5,000, and driving while under suspension.

Police look for man accused of stealing from gas station

Chatham-Kent police are asking for help from the public in identifying a man in connection with a theft investigation at the Shell Gas Station on St. Clair Street in Chatham. The theft happened early Friday morning.

Man Charged with Fraud

Fraud charges have been laid against a Chatham man after a woman complained that he didn't finish installing her windows.

The local woman reported she paid a man $5,800 to install new windows this summer but the man failed to complete the work.

A 29-year-old man from Chatham was arrested Thursday night and was charged with fraud over $5,000 and presenting a forged document.

Woman Found in Stolen Vehicle

Police are looking for a woman after she took off when officers found a stolen vehicle.

Thursday night, a stolen cargo van was parked at a home on Longwoods Road but it was still running. Police said the driver fled before police got there but another woman was still inside the vehicle and was arrested.

A 21-year-old Chatham woman was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
