Teen charged after hammer attack

A 15-year-old Chatham girl is facing charges after allegedly hitting her ex-boyfriend and his phone with a hammer.

Chatham-Kent police got the call in Chatham early Wednesday morning, and the female teen was arrested and charged with mischief, assault, and assault with a weapon.

Officers said the accused was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Police said the teen's ex-boyfriend was treated at the scene by local paramedics.
