Lincolns trounce Maroons 6-1

The Chatham Maroons were defeated by the St. Mary Lincolns 6-1 on Sunday.

Both teams failed to score in the first period.

Joe Mazur scored the first goal of the game 2:24 into the second period. Lucas Fancy responded with a goal for the Maroons 10:31 into the frame.

The Lincolns were on a hot streak in the third period as they earned six consecutive goals scored by Ethan Lamoureux, Brayden Hislop, who scored a powerplay, two shot by Cayse Ton, and Ryan Brown.

Maroons goalie Kevin Linker saved 26 out of 32 shots on net.

The Maroons will be facing off against the Strathroy Rockets on Saturday. Puck drops at 7 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
