Suspicious man offers ride to teen girl

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they try to track down a suspicious man who approached a 17-year-old girl in Chatham.

Police said shortly after 1 p.m. Friday, a man driving a silver four-door car with dark tinted windows drove up to the girl while she was walking on McNaughton Avenue near Cedarwoods Crescent, rolled down his window, and asked if she wanted a ride.

The teen said no and the man drove away.

Police said the man was last seen wearing dark square-shaped sunglasses and is believed to be approximately 30-40 years old.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
