Rockets edge Maroons 3-2 in OT

The Chatham Maroons were defeated by the Strathroy Rockets 3-2 in overtime on Saturday.

Chatham kicked off the game with a goal shot by Blake Boudreau 16 minutes into the first period. Srathroy's Riley Wood scored with only one second left in the frame putting the game at a time.

Both teams failed to score in the second period.

Chatham's Kyle Fisher scored three minutes into the third period. Zachary Berriault scored 12 minutes into the third period for the Rockets putting the game at another tie.

Both teams failed to score in the first overtime period.

Brandon Sanders scored two minutes into the second overtime period giving the win to the Rockets.

Chatham goalie Kevin Linker saved  38 out of 41 shots on net.

The Maroons will face off against the St. Thomas Stars on Sunday. Pucks drops at 2:30 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
