CK police briefs - Monday, December 23, 2019

A 49-year-old Chatham man accused of shoplifting is facing a few charges.

Police said the man allegedly stole an SD card from a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham on Sunday. He is also accused of being in possession of a controlled substance and breaking one of his court-ordered conditions.

The 49-year-old was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a break-in at a residence in the Wheatley area.

Officers said the break-in happened sometime between Saturday morning and Sunday morning. The back door of the residence was forced open and two jewellery boxes filled with $200 worth of costume jewellery had been reported stolen.

A man wanted by London Police Services has been arrested in Chatham-Kent.

Police said the 49-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for failing to attend court. He allegedly had methamphetamine and a prohibited weapon on him at the time of the arrest.

He was processed on CKPS charges and given a future court date before being turned over to London police.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
