Chatham man charged in Walkerton crash

A 49-year-old Chatham man is charged with failing to stop for a red light following a three-vehicle crash in Walkerton on Boxing Day.

Ontario Provincial Police said the 49-year-old was driving an SUV through the intersection of Durham Street and Jackson Street when the collision happened on Thursday evening.

Police said the westbound SUV allegedly ran the red light only to be hit by a pick-up truck, which sent the SUV into a third vehicle.

No injuries were reported.

South Bruce OPP are asking witnesses to step forward by calling 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
