Fire destroys residential garage in Ridgetown

Damage is pegged at around $75,000 after a fire destroyed a detached garage in Ridgetown.

The blaze broke out Friday evening at 14 Broadway Street and heavy smoke and flames could be seen by firefighters when they arrived at the scene.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services said the fire was quickly brought under control.

No one was injured in the fire and a cause has not yet been determined.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
