Lincolns double Maroons 6-3

The Chatham Maroons dropped a 6-3 decision to the St. Marys Lincolns on Friday.

The Lincolns were first on the board with a goal late in the first period, but Kyle Fisher scored for Chatham 5:55 into the second to tie the game. St. Mary's surged into the lead in the latter half of the second by scoring three back-to-back goals.

The Lincolns extended their lead to 5-1 early in the third and Chatham responded with Lucas Fancy scoring less than a minute later. The back and forth continued with St. Marys scoring 8:08 into the final frame and Dallas Maurovic scoring for Chatham with just under nine minutes left to play.

Despite the loss, the Maroons outshot the Lincolns 32-31.

The Maroons will look to bounce back on Sunday when they return home to take on the Komoka Kings at 7 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
