UPDATE: Industrial accident in Chatham under investigation

The Ministry of Labour is investigating an industrial accident in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said emergency crews responded to a greenhouse operation at 162 Bloomfield Road just before 1 p.m. on Monday, adding a 20-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Ministry spokesperson Janet Deline said the ministry was notified Monday afternoon of an incident at Truly Green Farms in Chatham.

"It was reported a worker was injured when their clothing became caught in machinery," Deline said. "We have no confirmed details at this time. A ministry inspector has been assigned to investigate and is en route."

The investigation is ongoing.
