Erie Beach area hit by several break-ins

Chatham-Kent police are issuing a warning after a rash of break and enters in the Erie Beach area.

Police said since the beginning of the year, officers have responded to several break and enters in the area of Erie Beach, specifically at cottages and garages on Towanda Boulevard and Erie Shore Drive. Police are encouraging those who own property in this area to have someone check that all doors and windows are locked.

Police want witnesses and owners to call them to report the incident if they suspect someone has entered a cottage or garage.

"If you see or hear anything suspicious near a property that you know is vacant, please call us immediately," said Chatham-Kent Police Public Information Officer Renee Cowell.
