Driver airlifted to hospital after crash in Bothwell

One person has been airlifted to hospital following a single-vehicle crash in Bothwell.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said on Tuesday at around 10:40 a.m., officers responded to the area of W Bothwell Road, just north of Longwoods Road, after a vehicle left the road and struck a tree.

The driver of the vehicle, a 51-year-old man, was taken to a hospital in London by an Ornge air ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. His condition was listed as stable late Tuesday afternoon.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation and no charges have been laid at this time.

W Bothwell Road was closed between Longwoods Road and Zone Centre Line for around three hours and was reopened shortly after 4 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
