Maroons edge Lincolns 5-4

A strong second period lifted the Chatham Maroons to a 5-4 victory over the St. Marys Lincolns on Friday.

Kyle Fisher scored early in the first period to put Chatham on the board but the Lincolns responded by scoring two of their own before the end of the frame.  The Lincolns scored again just under five minutes into the second, but Zach Power, AJ Ryan and Lucas Fancy all scored to give the Maroons a 4-3 lead heading into the third.

St. Marys scored 1:39 into the final period to tie the game but Power scored his second of the night with just under five minutes left in the game to win it for Chatham.

Maroons goalie Bryce Walcarius made 26 saves out of 30 shots on net.

The Maroons are back on the ice on Sunday to take on the Leamington Flyers. The puck drops at 7 p.m. in Chatham.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
